HUM 304 Humanities at Work I 3

HUM 304 serves as the first of the two-semester sequence (HUM 304 & HUM 305) focusing on developing a working definition of “the humanities,” researching humanities career pathways, and drawing connections between the internship site project and humanities ways of knowing.

Prerequisites: Written permission of instructor.

Corequisites: HUM 304L or HIS 390 (with written permission of instructor).

HUM 304L Humanities at Work I Lab 2

HUM 304L serves as the first of the two-semester sequence (HUM 304L & HUM 305L). As the humanities-based lab for HUM 304,HUM 304L has two functions: to enable a full-program gathering and to give students course credit for the 5 hours of learning represented by time spent “in the field.”

Prerequisites: Written permission of instructor.

Corequisites: HUM 304.

HUM 305 Humanities at Work II 2

HUM 305, the second of a two-semester sequence (HUM 304 & HUM 305), focuses on re-sparking curiosity, the process of completing a community-engaged, humanities-, team-, and project-based research project, and gathering with local community partners for an end-of-the-year showcase.

Prerequisites: HUM 304 and HUM 304L or HIS 390. Written permission of instructor;

Corequisites: HUM 305L or HIS 390 (with written permission of instructor).

HUM 305L Humanities at Work II Lab 2

HUM 305L, the second of a two-semester sequence (HUM 304L & HUM 305L) serves two functions: to enable a full-program gathering, including a culminating showcase of projects, and to give students course credit for the 5 hours of learning represented by time spent “in the field,” at an intern’s site.

Prerequisites: HUM 304 and HUM 304L or HIS 390. Written permission of instructor;

Corequisites: HUM 305.
