The online Add-On Licensure in Birth through Kindergarten (BK) provides graduate-level training for students who hold a teaching license in another area and want to add the North Carolina Birth-Kindergarten teaching license to their licensure qualifications. The program requires 14 credit hours and is offered jointly by the departments of Human Development and Family Studies and Specialized Education Services. At the completion of the program, students qualify to be recommended for the Add-On Licensure in BK. Credits completed for the licensure program may be counted toward the M.Ed. in Birth-Kindergarten Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development.
