Drug and Alcohol Policy

The following excerpt is reprinted from The University Policy Manual. The full policy can be accessed at https://policy.uncg.edu/university_policies/illegal-use-or-abuse-of-alcohol.

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (the “University”) is committed to sustaining a safe and healthy environment that enables members of our community to acquire knowledge, develop intellectual skills, and become more thoughtful and responsible members of a global society. The illegal use or abuse of alcohol and drugs in the workplace and academic environment disrupts the University’s mission. This policy is intended to ensure the illegal use or abuse of alcohol and other drugs does not interfere with this core mission and that the University complies with the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act and the Drug-Free Workplace Act. The University will attempt to minimize such conduct through educational and counseling activities as well as disciplinary action.
